Husqvarna 445 Chainsaw Repair

Looking for advice. I have limited experience at small engine repair so excuse any mistakes below.

Have a Husqvarna 445 chainsaw that was extremely difficult to start. Eventually after many many pulls could get it started. But then when I revved it, it would stall out. It has a good fuel/oil mix in it. Fuel lines and bulb seem fine. Replaced the spark plug, air filter and fuel filter. Symptoms remained. So went ahead and purchased a new carb and installed it. Now it starts easy. But unfortunately now it won't rev up. Spent a long time tuning with the idle, high/low screws but still could not come close to getting the saw to rev properly. If fully throttled it tries to rev higher but doesn't come close to the RPM's of a properly running saw.

Any suggestions as to what I could have done wrong and/or possible next steps? Thanks in advance!

Hook up the throttle linkage to the carb. It's probably sitting on the part it needs to be hooked to so it will move it a little when you squeeze the throttle. There is a little hole that it needs to be hooked into.

Thanks for the reply but the throttle linkage is hooked up correctly. When the cover is off you can see the throttle arm move when you pull the 'trigger'.
Seems like I'm getting good compression so I must have screwed up something that's messing up the fuel/air mix that's getting to the cylinder...

This might sound dumb but make sure your fuel filter in the fuel tank is connected to the fuel line. It is a filter but it's also a weight that keeps itself in the lowest part of the tank regardless of what angle you are using it at. They don't come off very often but when they do, the end of the fuel line can pop up and out of the fuel. Also, make sure the carb intake boot is installed correctly and isn't damaged. I've seen that a lot of times. Otherwise, it's probably a carb adjustment.

Edit to say.....maybe you bent the throttle linkage and that shortened it by just a tiny bit.

Air leak? Or damaged impulse line? Fuel lines can look fine but be gummed up or collapsing on the inside or get pin holes
