I'm not talking about a 10-10S,I'm talking about 2 10-10s (I refuse to use an apostrophe after the numbers on a saw because that's possessive,or it's used in a contraction, example:that is = that's.I see people using that on saws all the time & I wonder how they got a high school diploma).Sorry for the rant.

On a better note,I had a friend help me put some shelves up in my barn to get the pile 'o saws out of my garage. We spent 4 1/2 hrs.cleaning out the barn, putting up shelves,& transferring saws from garage to barn.I kept a lot of my Macs in the garage, too valuable to put in the barn. Here are a couple pics.I have Macs,Homelites,Pioneers,Poulans,Remingtons,Echos,& Jonsereds all together.

And those pesky spaces after punctuation can be really confusing, too.

I love those older Blue Homelite saws.

McCulloch Cross Reference Question:

I am getting closer to having to tear into this McCulloch Super 797 in order to free up a stuck piston. Problem is, I am very limited on Small Engine Mechanical Skills.

The other problem, is that I have not been able to find a Service Manual (other than the Clymer snippet & IPL List). I was curious, maybe there is another McCulloch Model that is very similar to the Super 797…which does have Service Manuals available?

Question: Does anyone know which models are very close to the Super 797?

Thank You
Where is the piston sitting at?
I got a 990 Remington freed up with a grease gun as the piston was above the ports.I used diesel instead of grease i figured if it didn't move the piston it would get into the rings. It moved the piston.Grease would have been next
I have a early Hornet cylinder with a stuck piston that has won each battle so far.
I have a battle plan for it as the top of the cylinder is removable. The rings are above the ports i am going to try and push it out the top.Its so bad that the piston has corosion pits in it where the ports are.A press and propane both for heating and cooling will be employed.

I've got a PM700 and a PM610 that I use occasionally mostly the 700 when I want the long bar. I just picked this and a old Pioneer Farmsaw with no spark up today. Can't ID this old Mac if anyone can help. Didn't find a tag by carb or any numbers on bottom except a 20210919_130015.jpg20210919_130046.jpg stamped into part of the case. The Carb is stamped HL103c. Full wrap bar and it's a big ass saw with odd choke and decomp buttons and I'm assuming a Manuel oiler. It was missing top cover and fuel cap as well as bar and chain. Let's see if some pictures will load for me.

What are the numbers stamped in bottom of case?
Didn't find any numbers on bottom of case.

How many other saws have that kind of choke and manual oiler button? It's the first one I've seen but then again all I've ever worked on or own is a 10 series saw.

Going by that I can just see that decompression lever below the primer button in last pic...I'd say that's a 795 or 797. 790 is same 6.3 cube/103cc displacement & a couple three years older, but dont have a decomp.

Well that's a start will start looking them up and see what I come up with. Gonna tear into it sometime this week and see what needs replacing. But wanted to have an idea of what I'm working with . Thanks for the tip

On the bottom belly of the saw is a casting that looks like a "T", To the left side of that T should be a model stamped, if not on the right side shoild be more numbers that may help id it. May have to scrape some crud away.
