Perfect! Thank you for this!1122 664 0501 is the large spike kit, you'll have to clearance the outer spike a little as the cover on the standard cover is slightly different than the wrap model, very easy to do. You also want the roller catcher 1122-650-7700 the stock spike is pathetic.
Do you have a pic of the ones you mentioned that you like?I'm a fan of the 064 hardwood dawgs on them personally.
but a 462 shares them with a all 44's/64's/66's - basically everything except the 046/460/461

Looks great. I think I'll look into these.https://www.ebay.com/itm/DOG-SET-FI...2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
They bite good and don't chew up as much bar length, I don't like the ones that come on the R model, the bottom spike is too big for the wood I cut and stalls the saw easier. The ones I posted are the same minus that big bottom spike.
So basically anything 064 or like it will fit?To run the 462 R dogs, you’d need about .020” depth gauges or a dull chain to keep the saw from locking up in hardwood. The 064 dogs above are much better

I've had no issue running the R style on my 462, I actually like the big lower spike, nice with big thick bark IMHO.[emoji111]To run the 462 R dogs, you’d need about .020” depth gauges or a dull chain to keep the saw from locking up in hardwood. The 064 dogs above are much better
Then you don’t know how to sharpen the chain very well LOL. I’ve taken chains fresh off the grinder with rakers at .025 on a 28 inch bar and it would not cut a frozen beech log. With a dozen guys there watching. Had to hit the dirt with the tip a couple times to dull the chain enough so that it wasn’t grabbingI've had no issue running the R style on my 462, I actually like the big lower spike, nice with big thick bark IMHO.[emoji111]
I probably don't.[emoji22]Then you don’t know how to sharpen the chain very well LOL. Do these need any modifications to the outer?064 spike part numbers inner 1122 664 0505 outer 1122 664 0500
I don't know for sure, but I would imagine the outer will need to be clearanced, as those fit the same saws. It's very easy to do with a grinder, take your time and it will look factoy.Do these need any modifications to the outer?

I've had the same problem with the R dogs...standard depth gauges grab too much while laying on the dogs because of the leverage. Then you don’t know how to sharpen the chain very well LOL. The type of wood has a lot to do with it IMHO. You definitely have a lot more leverage.I've had the same problem with the R dogs...standard depth gauges grab too much while laying on the dogs because of the leverage.
I just leave my depth gauges higher...I prefer higher depth gauges on felling chains anyway. I don't want the chain grabbing hard while felling. Nice smooth cutting is my preference.
