How does it run if you loosen up your muffler bolts , you might have a plugged up muffler.

P38 Build Pics and different clutch spiders used by Pioneer and Pioneer Partner. The proper clutch spider for this P38 is the old part #432740 which subs up to #433133. Pioneer Partner uses this same spider on their models PP42,52,52plus, Pioneer P62and PP65 Saws.

Still searching for replacement oil seals once in awhile.

The after market replacement for most or maybe all using Pioneer 427656 appears to be SKF CR5626.
OD and shaft size are right on the money but the width is wider. The SKF CR5626 seal is .312" and the 427656 is .213" (or so)
It worth checking for interference with bearing cages, points boxes clutch sprockets oil pumps...........
.

For the Saws in the P series using 428746. and 507428746 The best fit is Dichtomatic 15 X 25.5X 7TC. I also found some Chinese seals in the Dichtomatic size as well at a better price. My dealer tells me all the metric seals are made in China now.

As another note, All Carlton chain is now made in China as well as all of Oregon's 3/8 LP chain. The tools started moving to China from various places in stages two years ago. I can't see any difference in the quality.

Interesting stuff, Tim.

So this popped up on FB the other day fairly close to me. I never see these in our area. $90 and no details. No spare cash either or I woulda snagged it already. Always liked the Farmsaw color scheme, not to mention the general look of em. This one looks fairly decent. Surprised it hasn't sold already.

Nice unit. I have a beauty. They are a pretty saw for sure and a good performer. Fragile starters and the Prestolite blue coil. The Huky 55 series coil is a good replacement for them.

A member of a Canadian only chainsaw FB page had a GTG last Saturday. We had timed cookie cuts in ash with different wide class cc saws. I won the 60 - 80cc class cutoff against some newer Stihls and a variety of other decent models, maybe 20 saws with my rat saw Pioneer 3200 (77cc) winning.
Fugly saw with lots of JB weld and welding repairs. Faster runs were around 10 seconds, mine was a hair over 8 seconds. No one was more surprised than me. It is fast but not pretty.
These saws get no respect. Not bad for a $25 1969 saw. My chain was very good as you would expect because it spanked a Stihl 461.
All about the chain!

The 3200 are a really strong 77cc saw. I picked one up last year and have been tinkering away at it here and there. Cut with it the other day for a test. Tons of snap on the throttle and dual port muffler came stock. Sound awesome……look like trash though like Tim’s! I’d pick it up any day over my Farmsaw.

I also have a Super 2400. Haven’t touched it yet though. Needs some love.

What’s the difference in the 2400 and 2400 Super?

I have a 3200 in the project pile. Has 3 holes in the gas tank. Kinda a basket case. But top end looks mint

The 3270s are even better with their auto oilers. I quite like the looks of the chrome full wraps. If you're ot wanting a challenge, the 3270SC has a standard choke flap rather than the problematic primer. The creme de la creme might just be the 1560, 77cc gear drive with auto oiler.
