Stihl 064 Coil Specs ?

I have searched here for the Specs. to this coil so i can test mine without any luck.
its throwing ohms at me but i dont know what they should be.
Any help would be appriciated Thank You.

At a guess.
PRI 0.1-0.2 ohms.
SEC 10-12K ohms.(maybe it to 16K)
If internal electronics are fried the above specs mean nothing.

When i spin the flywheel slowly (like with the pullcord) with a cordless drill it dosnt spark.
When i spin it very fast it sparks.???

How about a bit of back story?
Is the saw new to you, or an old faithful?
Are you building it up from parts and have to to the "go" stage, but it just wont go?
Has been a lifelong friend and just stopped going?

Pull the flywheel and quote the part number off of it and the coil if the saw is new to you.

New to me , looks like it was run over by a truck. I'm replacing the fuel tank handle and did some case repair.
It has very low run time , piston looks like new.it was damaged and then shelved for 30 yrs.

If this is the typical one-piece coil and NO points/condenser it is electronic and most measurements would be meaningless. About all you can check for is an open secondary (plug winding). You troubleshoot these by replacement with a known good unit.

Even if it isn't electronic you can't (easily) check for shorted turns or insulation breakdown in the secondary.

Most of the time the Stihl electronic ignitions need 600+ RPM to produce a spark. The electronics prevent spark at lower RPM to minimize any kick back of the starter.

But back to the fact it is new to you- coil could be well and truly poked and you are trying to test a dud.
Now we get back to the numbers thing, need to know your flywheel number so the coil can match as it could be you have a mismatch already.

if it is the coil, I wish you luck, they are fairly difficult to source replacements, and as stated in a previous thread, they had several different versions, none interchange.

Does the coil read anything on the multi meter?

So,don't have a 64 coil.
Tested a redeye 066 coil-2.6k.
Tested 3 Stihl "common" coils-12.6k
All 1.5ohm primary.

Can fit a "common" coil and remove flywheel key for right timing.
Here is mine with piston at TDC.

Not if you put it back together the way it came off- ie: key steel in keyway cutouts of both the crank and the flywheel. That is the whole purpose of the key- to keep the timing correct and constant.

Just to get this straight,it won't spark pulling the rope?
As mentioned,pull it like you mean it.
As Bob said need coil & flywheel numbers to see if compatible for a start.
