I just bought an 038 magnum and it has a Bing 48 carb. I found the Stihl carb kit part number 1119 007 1066 but having a hard time finding one online. When I search I get a bunch of cheap Chinese kits that pop up. Anyone trust aftermarket kits like Oregon or something like them with a name brand ? Thanks

I've talked to these people on the phone, very nice humans to deal with.

? My parts carcasses are at my other place I'll check.

Just waiting for a new bar and chain!
That is one nice clean 038M None of mine are that pretty.
Keep it, will last a longgggggg time.

What bar you getting? I usually run 25" ES bars. Have some 20" too if trees are small that my 036s share.

I was thinking 25”. I have a 028WB for limbing and smaller trees. Couple places near me are getting $100 or more for 25” bar without chain.

They’re still available new from Stihl.
If you have a 038, the best investment is saving a parts carcass from the scrap yard.

You get a great selection of (dirty) inexpensive OEM parts, not from Chi-Coms. $ave money on part$, for those you need to count on (P/C, gasket/seals, bearings, hoses/rubber stuff, carb kits, filters...).
