I've just found a spring inside the old flag and I have moved it to the new one. I think this spring pushes the tab on the knee joint back up to the vertical position.
Yes you need that spring, but your problem is the tab on your knee joint is missing. You will need to replace the knee joint. See photo below to see how it should look.

The 272XP was my first Husqvarna back around 1998. It was the only saw I had for many years and I always thought it was a great saw. Still do!
I personally like them better than the 372. With simple muffler mods and a base gasket delete they will run with them. Just a better balanced saw in my opinion and more fun to run. Only thing I really like about the 372 over them is the snap air filter cover and the in board clutch. Side chain adjuster is nice as well.

Does anyone have a template of the cylinders to insulator block gasket for a 2100?

Possibly someone could scan one and email me?

Help required please. On my recent 61, all is complete except for the operator presence lever. Saw starts and runs fine without it but it devalues the resale with it missing. I have the replacement parts.
It looks like the lever would go in from the top near the carb if the carb was removed. It wont go in from the other end with the return spring captured by the roll pin. Am I right?

I finally got my 2100CD project pretty much done.

Working out some bugs still but it’s back up running and thumping.

Thank yoi for putting a broad down for it to idle on, I die a little bit every time I see some jack wagon idling a saw on concrete or asphalt.

I don't work on a lot of Husqvarna saws but I have a 450 that I just put an AM piston and cylinder on (from The Duke). The brake band was broken so I have one ordered, but I am worried that this brake handle won't effectively engage the operator (knee joint?).

If I need a new brake handle, what are the best options?

Thanks,

Mark
