Gotta Love the Big Yellow Barkers! Hope everyone here enjoys our America and a Holiday! peace out
Lawerence I think you are a pretty good ole boy but need to heed your own advice a bit. Life is too short to get all heated up. Especially on the 4th of July. I do like the big yellow Barker saws but what you have it not a Barker. It is a McCulloch and also not a "McCullogh" as you call it.

Here is a big yellow Barker http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.n...6cd0053a845e24ac88256b39001c2fda?OpenDocument

Why is the front vibration dampener so badly stretched out of shape? I'm thinking someone that wasn't familiar with this model didn't assemble it correctly. There is too much of an gap between gas tank & crankcase. To sell this saw to a knowledgeable collector you need a photo of the cylinder bore with the muffler off, also mention the teeth count of the rim and what carb is attached & model. I have of these 125's, 1 is a C and the other cast iron. The 3rd is an original factory installed 101B kart engine.

I am aware that the kart engine was a dealer installed kit. In the early 70's my aunt was secretary to a high level executive at Mcculloch corp and employees could purchase discounted products for themselves and close relatives. I ordered 2 125's and 1 kart kit, upon delivery the 3rd box contained the 'kart kit' which was a complete 125 power head. I think the guys did this for her as a favor because she was a well loved employee . At the time I was a contract feller for several logging companies and the forest service & etc. I do have several photos of the 101B setup if you would like to view? I know reason for the large air gap and bent front dampener is someone needed to work on the chain oiler and instead of properly disassembling the saw, they just crudely jammed a pry bar between the tank and crankcase and pried it apart! IMHO that saw should not bring top dollar until checked out completely.

On an interesting note, the 125C with the large adjustable walbro carb could keep up with the kart powered saw. This was running 105 octane av fuel and racing oil. However this changed up when an kart exhaust was installed and more carb mods. These old saws gave me several podium finishes at logging shows. Lots of fun in those days, all this puts a date on my age at almost 80.

I probably should have detailed the factory installed kart kit differently, sorry. Rich Dugan is a great guy and I have bought several parts from him.

Right now I am madly baling hay trying to beat the weather and will have time in a few days for photos and Mc details, thanks.
I'd be very interested in pictures of your saws, particularly your kartsaw. It sounds like you have a very special machine. Yeah, Mac did a lot of one-offs that I would have loved to see, like the prototype 797 saws they sent out to the field in the early days or the prototype BP-1s that they had dealers test out. It doesn't surprise me that they would do something special for your aunt. I talked to a retired distributor in 2005 and bought a lot of his remaining inventory and he told me tales of all the fun times with the staff back in the day, particularly legendary parties they had.

Here's a .010" over kartsaw I recently built for a member here - It's a 101D block with the later crank and head, and a new Mac .010" over piston and rings:

Firstly the Mac in question has Never had a wrench turned on it Rich has pics and Rich is Friend and I haven't purchased parts for any saws in over 25 years. We really don't have to discuss it any further at this gonna set it aside. Thanks

One man's turd is another man's chandelier.
That right there is the truth. I have never had the means to buy a chandelier but I do agree with what you are saying.

On side note I want to say a bit. When JJ (Jacob J) speaks folks ought to listen. The man has forgotten more in a week than most of the rest of us have learned in a lifetime. That is a fact and not up for debate
