Back to scrounging. I got the MS400 in December. I've only ran a couple of tanks through it but I'm already impressed. I got it to supplement a MS271 and a Husky 445 that I've been using for years. I'm lucky to harvest mostly deadfall on 160 acres in Custer County Co. I'll post some photos soon.

After having similar issues with my splitter I installed an inline filter. I also added a shut off valve to make changing it less messy and to be able to drain the carb when I put it up for the summer.

I was debating that. I may takd it back the the 'fix it' I wish more manufacturers would put that on everything they make. Only take pennies per machine.

I have been debating buying one myself. For sure I don't need one but it has been a long time since a new one appeared in my stable. It would replace the ms362. I was under the impression that there was a 400i and a 500i. Called dealer yesterday to see if they had one. Found out there is no 400i but they did have a MS400cm on the shelf. Temped.

Since this is a catch all for information I will ask which 4 wheeler? I had a honda big red for 30+ years but it finally wore out. It pulled a small 3x4ft trailer around my 5 acres for yard work. I need a wheeler to pull this same trailer around the property. Looking to spend $1500-3000. I am currently using a 2001 honda odyssesy around the yard and it is too big for this task.

From the reports I have been seeing on the 400 it looks like it would almost replace my MS441cm. Probably not thought, That saw hauls a 32" bar in black locust pretty good.

It directly replaces the 362 not the 441. At 67 vs 71cc there isn't much difference between the 400 and 441 in power. But the 400 is 2lbs lighter and a much more modern ergonomic design with good filtration and av. The 441 is non of those things, the 461/2 basically killed the 440/1 series being lighter and better in every way a true 70cc saw could be.

Yes MS400CM. It's my go to saw most of the time. I don't think you would be disappointed.

I'm mostly finished with my home made log splitter, or at least enough I could try it out. I still need to tidy up some stuff, I'm going to grab some broken firehose from work to protect the hydraulic lines and to secure them, so they are rubbing on metal parts. I'm also going to make a table for it at some point, but I want to use it first, just to give me a better idea of what I want for that. I'm also going to build an axle at some point, this one is out of a harbor freight trailer and is arched under the weight of this thing, even after I boxed in the axle.

I bought the Predator motor, the jack, the pump mount, and the Coors sticker, everything else was repurposed and/or built.
