Always cracks me up to see chain that’s half way work down that the rakers have never been hit on.

I’ve never seen double rakers like this before.

I like the 98-04 Honda 450 Foremans, great work quad. The 350 rancher is a good quad too, but I haven't seen any hitches for them. I like them with a 2wd/4wd selector so you don't tear up the yard.
My 350 Rancher has a hitch.
I didn't even know they built a 350 rancher? What years?
 
Well, with fresh fuel the poulan fires right up and actually runs pretty danged good.

Unfortunately there is a tiny spot of corrosion on the bottom in the tank that has a pinhole that leaks pretty good, so now I’ve got to decide what I want to do with it.

The 365sp had the throttle screw turned pretty much all the way in, and the low turned out about 12 turns. Turned the idle all the way in, and the high/low all the way in and then out one and a quarter and it fired right up and idled perfect.

Revs up but if you hold it full throttle for more then about 5 seconds it will bog out and die.
 
I called EA this morning and he said they cator more to tractors and the cylinders on his grapples weren't designed for skid steer pressures.🤷 Heck I don't know?
Their loss. I think they are just being jerks. Only thing I can remotely think of is most skid loaders run higher hydraulic pressure then tractors, but nearly all cylinders are rated to 3k psi these days. 🤷‍♂️

Upgrade the oiler and it's totally a 441 replacement IMO. You don't even have to swap the whole oiler, it's literally the 2 pieces inside the oiler housing(the control bolt and I'm spacing on the other part name.) The pieces for a 461R swap right in without any mods and substantially increase the oil output. I remember watching a dyno comparison video between a bone stock 400 and 440, they were close, but the 400 had more power at all points of the graph.
When I did the oiler upgrade on my 400 my dealer couldn't order the piston and cross bolt (I think thats what it was called ?) Separate so I ended up getting the whole oiler.

I've never ran a 400, but I thought the 441's I've had in the past were better than many of the stihl offerings for ergonomics, and that the 441 did fine on filtration.
The best feature of a 441 is how smooth they are, that makes a huge difference to me, hard to like a rubber mount saw anymore. Although some are fun for a few cuts ;). But I guess if the 400 is that much lighter, it should at least handle a bit better than a 441.
I was thinking of you the other day, guy who was interested in my little kubota said he worked at a shop that makes the pneumatic brakes for coasters or at least some of the parts for them? He runs a shop in Jackson Michigan.
I haven't heard of him, but that doesn't mean much. Think most our stuff is from overseas. I don't get into purchasing at all. Just let them know what I need and go from there.
 
Work on the old wood stove scrounge today made the backer plates for the bricks . Also made the air damper out of the same 5/16 plate steel
I changed the plat to three slots wasn’t thinking when I marked it out

They look to be around 18'-20'. That wood mean one 10 footer would be around 2400lbs! Crazy! That hard wood is some heavy stuff! No wonder such a high BTU rating and broken toe percentage! 👍
Yes I was overloaded . My trailer is 14 feet long and a GVW is 10k . The logs were 17 ft long. I ended up with two loads like that and 4 loads of rounds . Nice when you know a tree guy.

I want to say "he claimed" theirs were rated to 1800-2000psi, so he claimed. I don't know what his deal was. The guys at Quick Attach have bet great to deal with, and they're factory direct! 👍

Yeah, I'm sitting here with my foot in a bucket of hot water & epsom salt, cause I dropped a piece of that oak on it today....dang hard, heavy, and unforgiving stuff is oak.
 
I got an e-mail around 1 today telling me a tree was down on the rail trail... I took care of that one and felled 17 others while I was there. I mostly used my new MS661 to get some tanks of fuel through it before I start cutting big stuff and milling... Almost all were all between 10" and 16" in diameter with a few around 5-6". I cut the last tree, about a 10", with my MS261 as there was iffy footing and other close live trees to work amongst. The 261 seemed anemic after running the 661... 😉

The ash have been collapsing at an increasing rate. I find it's better to take them on my schedule instead of theirs... In the middle-right top of the photo is the stump part of the snag that broke off about 12' above the ground and smashed the fence.

Is this a volunteer situation or are you employed by the non profit ? I've been on the trail from hopewell up to Highland. Was a pain when you had to traverse on some of the roads to get to the connecting trails
 
Thanks. Word of caution though...it's really easy to actually spend more, or at least as much, building one, than you would just buying one outright. I got most of the components for free, but even then, I've got about $500-600 into this thing. If I count what I think my time is worth, it would've made more financial sense to just work a side job or a couple days of overtime and buy a pre-built unit.

I guess I did it more for the process of building it than for the finished product, if that makes sense? What's that old saying? Something about how the journey is often better than the final destination? The real quote is phrased much more eloquently than my pea-brain can think of.
See here's the thing. Shipping is what absolutely kills me here on Kodiak. Not only do items need to be shipped a long distance North. They also have to be shipped via tug and barge or container ship across water to get to Kodiak. Very costly and time consuming! Usually resulting in substantial increases in price for an item that has any kind of weight to it. As far as materials? Being as Kodiak is one of the top three biggest commercial fishing ports in the US. Materials like steel and hydraulic systems and parts are easy to come by. Be them new or used. 👍 I haven't looked deep into commercial splitters yet. However, Eastonmade dosent return many calls or emails!👎 I'll say that much!
