I need to do a check and want to make sure I do it right. WDO

Get a compression guage with a Schrader valve right at the tip. If id doen't have one, you can't use it. The reading will be way low. Screw it into the sparkplug hole. Ensure that the decompression valve is shut. Pull the rope until the guage goes no higher, often at least 5 pulls.

Thanks Brad. That's how I thought it was done. Just wanted to make sure I was doing it correct on a 2 cycle. The 064 reads #152. What do you think?

I was told to hold the throttle full open when pulling the starter during a compression test ?

Urban legend... just pull until it doesn't rise and more.

I dont know how much different it makes but on car motors holding the
Throttle open lets more air in .also cranking speed and cam timing and
all the cam specs change .Why am i typing this nobody cares even me

Dang i must be bored didnt get to the garage last night to cold.
