Want an axe, and love the feel of the Stihl ones. Is the pro splitting axe good?

Big 120' Bluegum going down in silence...

Howdy Folks! Here are some pics (and a vid) of my junior dropping a 120' Eucalyptus (Bluegum). He made some very good cuts, and was rewarded with a perfectly clean fall, with the hinge holding on all the way down to the ground! Made me very proud! I especially enjoyed his "mic drop/badass walk...

    Fiskars Super Splitting Axe

Got the Fiskars Super Splitting Axe from Santa! Took it out today and busted up some red oak rounds with it. I'm impressed. I like it. The handle has some biteback in it, but this thing works!

Halder Simplex Splitting Maul- Testing for the first time.

I'm testing out the Halder Simplex Splitting Maul for the first time. This maul weighs 9lbs and is 35.8" overall and made in Germany. Has anyone else tried this one? So far, I'm very happy with it after splitting for one day. I have a huge pile of firewood that the utility company cut, so...

    Beaver Tooth--Beware!

Hi, All: Just thought I'd alert everyone here how dishonest Beaver Tooth is. I was searching for a replacement handle for a 2-1/4lb half axe and I found this: https://beaver-tooth.com/collections/single-bit-axe-handles/products/28-boys-half-axe-cedar-axe-handle-american-hickory-single-bit...

Really like the Helko Pro Series Splitting Axe- 28" Length

I think I found my new go-to axe/maul for splitting the middle size rounds. The Helko Pro Series Splitting Axe with a 3.75 lb head is something I can swing all day long and does a great job. If I'm busting up big rounds, I go to the Helko Vario 2000 Heavy Wood Splitter. Please check out this...

    Fiskars X25 or X27

Mornin'! I'm trying to decide on whether to order an X25 or the X27? I'm 5'10", 205 lbs, been swinging an old crummy 34" Ames axe/maul for 15 years, time for an upgrade. I always use a chopping block, so I prefer splitting a round about waist height....just how I've always done it. I initially...

    Are all axes created equal?

Probably not! I've only really ever used 1 axe the last 15 years...my brother gave it to me when I was 18, not sure who made it or if its junk? Never really put much thought into different axes, but to-day when I was splitting some rounds, my hands started hurting me, not something that usually...
