029 super carb

I picked up a project that is missing the carb. I see on the IPL there is a couple carb options. Is there a preferred carb for the super or are they all about the same?

It didn't come with one. I have several parts to buy.

I make no claims as to expertise, but the way I read the ipl, the HD-18 and HD-21 have the screw limiters and the difference appears to be jet size with the -18 jet listed at .56 for the 029 and the -21 listed at .58 for the 039.

The HD-19 shows no limiters and .58 jet. Also a high altitude jet of .54.

The 029 I bought used about 10 years ago has the HD-5 carb. No limiters and I don't know which jet is installed but I'll find out because I'm replacing the stock 46 mm cylinder with the 49 mm.

If it's me, I don't think I would care which one I used. I would think if I went with the -21, the screw limiter may have to be removed for a proper tune because of the larger jet or replace it with the .56 assuming lower altitude.

I think the carb on my 390 conversion is from an 046...

It came with a good cylinder. The piston has some light scoring. The crank bearing fell apert when I disassembled it so I'm guessing thats what took it out of commission.
