Hi all
Just picked up an 044 that had/has a heck of a kickback through the starter cord. Keyway looks good so unless I have a flywheel coil Miss match I’m good to go. The pull handle is broken so I’ll order one and see how I go with a better grip and pull.
What is the torque for the flywheel nut and air gap please.

Air gap for me is standard business card and never had a problem even if it is wrong
Same for me, except on my 461. The crank bearing died and the flywheel "kissed" the coil a time or two, so I decided to put an unlimited coil in it. I gapped it with a business card, no spark. I was sure the coil was good, so after some checking I decided to set the gap to .008 like the manual said. As soon as I did that, I had spark! My only guess as for why it didn't work is possibly the impact weakened the flywheel magnets to the point that they needed to be as close as possible.
