Hey guys and gals I just bought a rough looking but perfect internally ms460. I'm basically want to know how far I should go on it and see pictures of your mods to one. Its primary use will be milling big oak and cedar. Its got a 28in on it but I'd like to run a 36 nothing bigger. Show me those muffler mods to start out. Ones that sound like a pro circuit platinum 125. Lol oh almost forgot dose this mean I'm in the big boy saw club or is this just another mid class vag saw.

The biggest thing I'd do is modify the outlet like you can see in the pics below, and cut out/drill a bunch of holes in the internal baffle too.

Some reason I can't see your pics but I'm going to test this out and see how it feels.

Pretty much what I recommended except I'd make that hole go all the way to the slit.
I got something in the works. What about carb and ignition mods then porting. What do these saws like id guess a low exhaust roof, alittle more transfer duration and a slightly lower intake port. Since these are torque saws why not enhance that trait

Haha just kidding as good as it sounds here's what I really did just need to finish er up and paint it.

I build bark-box style muffler covers for all of my Stihls that have a 2 piece muffler.

This one is on a 880, I have the opening off to the side in order to knock the sound down a coupla decibels. On my bb and ported 044's, I center the opening. Loud AF, but it makes a noticeable difference.20220205_180218.jpg20220205_180414.jpg

Nice. Is that your 880. I've got a guy with a used once one he's holding for me until I can afford it. I'm excited to get it.
