Got a free black walnut out of a wooded lot. It already fell so I hope the center is still good. Its trunk has been suspended about 3’ off the ground for about 1 year+ now. As I said it has a 30’ length of dang near perfectly straight trunk and is 24” DBH.
Today im planning to work on my new rail system Im making for my chainsaw mill. Using the aluminum ladder trick but i want to weld some extentions to each end roughly 12” long so I can get a good start and finish on a 10’ length board.
Now i just have to decide how thick to mill them. This will be my first black walnut. Ill get pics of it soon.
Km excited to finally have time again to play with chainsaws. Been SUPER busy the past year
