Hello all, I bought a 262XP on an online auction, had 1 horrible picture, didn’t say what model it was or if it even ran. I thought it kinda looked like a 262xp and I’ve got a little soft spot for them since that is the model dad had when we were growing up making firewood. I went and picked it up today, it is a 262xp, has the decomp valve. Pulled the rope and she fired up in a few pulls, but will not stay idleing, I’m hoping a carb clean and adjustment will be all it takes. Anybody know the year by the serial number?? Also added the one photo the auction house had. Thanks

Sometimes seating the low needle and bringing it back out again can be a quick fix but always a good idea to give the carb a once over.

I would start with new genuine hoses and carb rebuild. Never hurts on a saw of that age.

Looks like a nice saw. More pics would be appreciated!

Fuel line, fuel filter, carb kit then tune up run it.

I picked up a so called 350 that ran. After the fuel system, clutch brg, crank brg, seals, ported, she finally
