288xp pumping oil out under oil pump

Hello, wondering if there is a possible cause of my 288xp pumping oil out in between the pump housing and the saw body, that is what is appearing to happen under preliminary examination, but it's possible that I am mistaken. If this is a common problem with a known solution let me know, just trying to collect some information before I take the pump out.

There is a small square o ring that seals the pump output to the case. I believe it’s similar or the same as what a 395 uses. It’s basically a piece of fuel line about 1/16” long

Awesome yeah I saw that x-ring on the IPL, maybe after I ask the question and I was wondering if that might have been the culprit. I'll just go ahead and order that along with the Big o ring. Does anyone know if 288 use the same crank seals as a 272?
