Just curious because im low on funds and time but would like to sponge up any education i can get directly related to certifications.

If not maybe someone could generate some?Possibly petition sponsors? maybe a new forum title?

This fellow Len Phillips has an online gig that has ISA CEU's available for passing online tests that I found extremely easy to ace. Check it out.

Dr. Gilman from University of Florida has a very extensive site. http://hort.ufl.edu/woody/

There are no credits granted for reading the site, but if you are just looking for education, there is some great information here. Check out: Under "Trees", the "Maintainence" area, on that page see "Improve Health" and "Solve Problems". Not really Tree Biology 101, but more of the applied side of the equation--keeping in mind that it is very important to know the Tree Biology 101, to help understand why the correct practices work! This is just a good site to learn from...

I doubt that they are "extremely" easy, but typically not hard.

The main thing that he's trying to establish with the test, is not brilliance, but to show that the article was read.

Better idea than the forum postings for validation before.

Someone could get 80 - 90 Free CEUs in 3 years that way.

Mario you are right; the online forum is going in a good direction. But those articles to date have not covered biology.

12ed, books like the study guide are lasting investments. I had no problem selling mine after I passed and got some more advanced books to take its place.

It's good gear, worth a dip into the limited funds.

Join the ISA and get the magazine, you can do the CEU tests in it.

It will cost you around $10/month for the membership. Around 10 years ago I did the Life Membership for $1050, it's about fully depreciated now.

Biology mostly i can trim but want to know more of why and how it grew.....

Pm'd you about sharing books, no cost except return shipping, also have arborist mags w/ceu tests not used if you want them. I have enough to re-cert already, yours if you want, firestarters otherwise.

If you ve got compendium they won t let you use copied answered sheets. No dummies there. Don t forget about next certification. It comes quicker than you expect.

No copies, I don't use the tests. I attend enough seminars and conferences every year to get ceu's. The books were just to lend for knowledge.

I do too, but the tests are also good for seeing whether the article was really understood. I usually cut out the articles and file them for later reference, since many are not archived by Arborist News.
