I saw the recent thread about the Bar Dresser, but I didn't want to cross post in that thread. I have used a carbide sharpener for various tasks about the garage and find it highly effective in removing burrs. It's primary purpose is to sharpen pruning shears, or large cutting blades such as manchettes. I know the typical tool to dress a chainsaw bar is a flat file. Recently, I tried dressing the bar with the carbide sharpener and I found it quite effective. One challenging area to deburr is the inside edge, especially when using a file (I understand that isn't really needed, but I prefer to do it, to prevent those razor sharp slivers from forming). Another area is the nose, both inside and outside edges. All of these areas are very easily deburred with the carbide sharpener.

There are many carbide shapeners available, I prefer the Corona AC 8300:

Has anyone used a carbide sharpener to dress their bars?
