Bar gauge question

hi Folks,

being looking to replace the SugiHara 16" bar of my MS261 for a Cannon Superbar. The Sugi and my chains are 325 in 0.058 gauge. I just found a 16" Superbar on ebay, but it's a 0.063 bar. Could I use this bar safely?

You can but you will need to purchase .063 chains to run on it... If you run your old chains on the new bar it won't do either any favors & will start cutting crooked in short order

Also if your sprocket is starting to wear the wider drive link might not sit well in it.
