Hi. Not sure if this qualifies as "big equipment", but I have a 625 that the Kohler engine just isn't getting up to full throttle like I need. Not sure if its something with the timing or what, but when it gets hot, it just stays around mid power. I've had it looked at a couple times, and I get the "they don't make parts for that anymore" line.
So at this point, I just want to get a new motor for it. I know they're around 2K, (ouch!) but I got a good deal on this thing, so maybe not so bad.
The old motor, the Kohler Commander 730-0019 isn't made anymore, and I was curious if any of you gents (or ladies) have had to do this before, and if so, do you have any suggestions to where to source one that should match up? I see a lot of them when I google, but not sure which ones are trustworthy, etc.
