Been a while since I’ve seen one of these post so post em up, the rules are you have to nominate the best saw and bar size. Each saw can only be used with one bar size.
The plan is for felling and processing firewood. Some of you will think having so many saws would be fantastic. Some will think that few would be terrible.

2 saw plan
550xp 16” bar
Dolmar 7900 20” bar

3 saw plan
ms201 rear handle 14” bar
550xp 16” bar
7900 20” bar

4 saw plan. (This is what I currently have)
ms201 rear handle 14” bar
550xp 16” bar
7900 20” bar
661 28” bar

5 saw plan
ms201 rear handle 14” bar
550xp 16” bar
ms400 18” bar
7900 24” bar
661 32” bar

6 saw plan
ms201 rear handle 14” bar
550xp 16” bar
ms400 18” bar
ms462 20” bar
7900 24” bar
661 32” bar

Current line up, but I have more runners and this is subject to change.
2 saw
Ms400
390xp

3 saw
359
Ms400
390xp
This is my typical take with, but I've only had the ms400 for a short time. its a very light and capable saw. The 359 is just a back up, but a good runner.
If I know I'm getting into big wood (ie greater then 28") I wouldn't bother taking the 359 with as it's not much lighter then the ms400, and substitute a smaller saw, 346xp or the gz4000 redmax.(after it's running properly.)

Out of currently owned and running saws.......

Is there a limit on how many saws you can have in your 3-saw plan? Mine is at 7...

1. 020 AV with 16" bar and 1/4" chain.

2. 020 Super Top Handle, 12" bar and 1/4".

3. 026 Pro with muff mod, BG delete, 18" 3/8".

4. 036 Pro with muff mod, 20" 3/8".

5. 044 slant fin/10mm with muff mod, BG delete, 24" 3/8".

6. 064/066 (still looking for one), 28", 3/8".

7. 076 Super, 36", .404".

I agree. My 2 saw plan is now at 3 saws. If I win the lottery, the plan is going to blow up. I'll probably have 10 of everything currently being made and then get real nuts and buy everything that was ever made. Hell I'll probably just have people drop off their saw(s). Throw it on the pile, I'll say, and here is a grand or two, now beat it.

I’d add a 395 with a 42” bar to my list but they have a side tensioner and outbound clutch. First world problems I know but I just can‘t bring my self to do it.. I ended up buying a MMWS 661.
