Overpruned one side (of fenceline) of 75 ft high Casuarina one year ago in Northern California (near San Francisco). Tree appears healthy & unfazed by the overpruning. Does one-side overpruning increase health risks to tree (infection or infestation?). Pruned side is in full sun. Residential area. No leaning now. Has endured strong winds. Is root structure likely to continue to support the tree? Dry strong soil (former bay mud). Frequent droughts here. Water table at approx 10 - 12 ft. Is it worth saving tree? Would it help (or be unnecessary) to do selective pruning of branches on opposing side to reduce weight of branches & reduce wind resistance? Or too great a risk of falling?

Casuarina tree

Very hardy, can take a Asplundh hack and slash prune job and thrive.
I used to hurricane proof these trees through out the Caribbean, crown reduction of over 50% with no long term health issues.
