Looking for saw for basic home use not too much heavy work, it will be used maybe 4 times a year. what would you advise? Don't want to spend too much. I have an old mac 10 that I love but it's 25 years old and needs some work but still runs and has met my needs very well. Can you get parts for a 25 year old mac 10?
Thanks,Richie

Neither, those saws are designed for professional use in a tree. Try the slightly heavier Stihl 170/180, Husqvarna 141, 136, or whatever the latest small saws are, or Echo 3450 a backhandled older discontinued model, but still available at Home Depot out my way. Also the Shindaiwa 360 is a light saw....and, among the pro saws, the backhandled Husky 336 works well.

To save you searching through the million threads on this subject, top handles are significantly more dangerous and less effective than rear handled saws.

The are a specialist tool for professionals who climb and cut. They might seem small and cute, but you would do way better buying a low end rear handled saw.

Top handles on the ground just make you look stupid.
