Has anyone here tried out the ebay bar and chains? I assume they are chinese parts. I'm looking at a "Juxin" 20" Stihl bar and chain. $35 shipped to my door. It would be for my Stumping saw, so I don't see a point in getting a nice bar. There are also Raptor, Ultimate Pro, Countyline (TSC?), Holzfforma, 8Ten, Laser and Timber Ridge, just to name a few...

You might also consider made-in-China bars sold by more legit brands: Archer, Forester, and the low-end Oregon bars.

They are pretty cheap and, maybe/perhaps, they are held to higher QC than the no-name brands?

Finally, I would place a wanted ad and see what you can get for a used bar.

Our standards must be considerably different. I consider the low end Oregon bars "good" bars. :)

Thank you. I will look at the low end Oregon bars too.

Well, regardless of how fine the cheapest Oregon bars are/are not...they can be (1) really inexpensive and (2) are made in China.

There is a 20" Oregon bar and chain on Amazon right now for 36 bucks!

I have found the chains which come in those combos to be made in the US and cut well. I have never run one of the Oregon China bars for any length of time, as I tend to buy them for saws I intend to sell...but, out of the box, they look good.

That's a really awesome deal! Especially for the $32 "used, like new". Unfortunately I believe that set is for a Husqvarna. I guess I never said what brand saw I had. I have a Stihl.

The county line brand bars and chains sold at tractor supply are pretty good for what they cost. Picked up a 026 Pro a while back with a new 20” county line bar and chain. Laminated bar of course but the chain looks strikingly similar in design to Stihl 33RS chain. Cuts good, holds an edge well in clean wood. I’d buy it again in a pinch.

I have had good luck with Forester products. The 9" brush cutters, the 25" bar (nice big oiler hole) and several lengths of chain.

I'm a Stihl guy but they have absolutely mucked up their pricing so bad I may soon be an ex-Stihl guy.
