Cylinder plating separation

Hey fellas thanks for the input. I will take it all into consideration. Not going to be using the Hyway cylinder. Didn't have time tonight but tomorrow hopefully I can measure the OE cylinder and decide to use it or buy new. I'll call it a relatively cheap education.
 
Again we need to clarify. You are not honing the cylinder ( as in over sizing) you are breaking the glaxe which is needed for new rings to seat. A ball hone or spring loaded small engine hone ( again, actually a glaze breaker) is only meant to rough up the cylinder. You can abuse anything, but a few strokes so you break the glaze (shine) is all that is needed. Have not ruined any cylinder in 40 years doing this.
It can be done with sandpaper also.
I HAVE seen rings not seat in a glazed cylinder.
Basic engine stuff.
