I had purchased a used grapple that turned out to be way to heavy for my tractor in my opinion. It was heavy!
I decided to build a root rake grapple of sorts, a project that I had been wanting to do anyway.
I started with a 1/4" quick attach plate which I happened to have, some 1/4" sheet which I had also.
I used a system that perhaps some of you guys have used it's called PAD (plywood aided design) LOL I needed a template to trace with the plasma cutter and it gave me the opportunity to mock it up out of plywood first for fitment issues.
I had to buy a hydraulic cylinder *TSC) had a 2' x 8" which works great.
I had NAPA make up the hoses.

and a few pictures. Its primary use will be for firewood duties, lifting logs and chunks. I used it today for a bit and it works great, I am happy with it.
The used one, I sold it to a guy that was going to put it on a 50hp skid steer
