I just rebuilt an 026, with new top end and pressure checked..everything seems good. Rebuilt carb, replaced fuel line and filter, intake boot…whole lot. When the saw is tipped towards the bar….it dies. Seems to run fine pretty much other than that….I’m stumped…this is the craziest thing I ever saw..

Mix will puddle someplace inside the crankcase. When you move the saw around the excess fuel will be drawn into the cylinder and flooding it out. Low compression can or will cause this. A lack of compression will not permit the mix to be vaporize and as mentioned and droplets of mix will puddle inside the crankcase.

I have a similar problem with my 026 but mine only wants to start or stay running when I tip it forward I’ve replaced the piston and cylinder and coil and carb …. And I’m gonna order a new intake boot tomorrow because I think mine has a hole in it …

This is a known issue with the 026 and 260 saws. Fuel pooling in the intake. "L" is set too rich. BTW, what carb is on the saw?
