I have a STIHL 170 that I use for general work around the yard and never had a problem in 15 years. I was talking to a neighbour about his slabbing off some Grevillea Robusta = Silky Oak and he told me he was going to buy a new mill and a new 880 chainsaw. I asked him what he was doing with his old saw and he said he gave it to his son. His son had a cheap Chinese 95cc Giant brand so they swapped and my neighbour offered the Chinese saw to me and a Alaskan mill and 42inch bar and 2 ripping chains, the saw is free but $100 for the 2 chains. Does anyone know if the saw is going to last long ? The saw runs ok and his son used it for a couple off months.
