Good morning all hope all is well.
61F/16C up to 77F/25C with some rain promised for later. Tried to mow the grass last night, the old John Deere didn't make it. Thought I had the problem fixed but no such luck. Some intermittent wiring snafu. They're the worst, runs for a while, then just dies. Maybe look at that later or turn it into a lawn ornament. Maybe try another type of rider after a trip to our local house of worship. Make it a good one everybody.
Hey OM Does it have a rectifier those are known for going bad. If you have an electronic clutch they cause quite a drain on the system if the rectifier is not functioning right. Or possibly a bad stator. My FIL has a cub cadet that us the worst. Safety switch nightmare always acting up. Good luck with the repair.

Here is a picture of our Foghorn out protecting his girls. Looks like he is getting a nice size comb. He is definitely the boss when he's in the yard. Have a great morning all.

Good morning all, 48° at chores time and sunny. Woke up to the sound of gun shots this morning, then I remembered that it is spring turkey season. Animals are fed and watered, bipeds fed and coffee is still flowing. So I made this little add-on for my splitter that helps cut the fibers that get missed by the splitter head and it seems to work well.
splitter add-on.jpg On my splitter there is a hole in the top of the wedge and this pipe with some added sharpened steel sits in the hole and cuts through those nasty fibers that cause me a headache. I'll have to drill and tap the wedge so that the pipe stays in place when in the vertical position. There is a piece of angle iron on the back of the pipe that fits over the edge of the wedge and keeps it in a straight line. I may have to add a little gusset on the back of the pipe down to the angle iron. So far it has worked on the oak and beech and maple but they were mostly straight. A couple of the guys I split wood with pull and yank on their splits and fight it tooth and nail. I think they should let the splitter do the work, that's just me. Play safe out there.

good morning - now enjoying the :drinkingcoffee: phase of my day! soggy! one word describes it best. bit of sun yesterday, stormy evening! glad this wave of weather abuse is over. plenty of flooding in various areas. rains over 13"!! a nice breeze this morn. out of the N. 73/85. that 90 for Monday is holding. :nofunny: humid air past few days, dryer today. 63%! and more or less 1619964653327.png

https://abc13.com/weather/car-stranded-as-flood-waters-continue-to-rise-on-sweeny-streets/10567053/

well, the main artery out of town N, the I45 just got shut down! all lanes! glad i am not in that back up. major accident. bodies out on the pavement!! :omg: first responders laying sheets to cover the dead... one moment normal traffic, then a lane change... and no one is paying attention... then like the Indy 500 on a bad turn, 5th lap.... cars, drivers and parts a flying...

can offer a new perspective on our day to day problems: 'hey! all is good! i made it home ok!!'.... as there are now several who do not have any more day to day problems...

the QB was heading S. she said, hmm, wonder why there is no traffic on the other side of the freeway? then up ahead... she came upon all the carnage!! and the white sheets, etc....

such events are brutally real! reminds me of the high school health class safety movie we sat thru: Signal 30!

10:30 am. it is a news item now. reportedly happened at 5:30 am... 4 vehicles! full freeway shut down!

Oh yeah have to love an oxy ace rosebud. I have a big journeyman torch here myself always comes in handy for that stuff. Just got done putting in the predator screen in the coop I'm about to head back out after this cup of coffee and get the Creamsicle out to cut some timbers to finish off the middle section.
don't know why they mfg the slip so tight. rust, corrosion, dirt etc... makes for an impossible removal. should be simple to just pull a pulley off a shaft end. but i have not found any info or vids showing it to be easy... grr!

coop looks good. screen smart idea....

This morning finished moving the 4th pickup load of rotted firewood at a friends house to the dump . Well one load did go to my daughter's for the firepit. Monday have to go back to for a load of scrap steel and take to the recycle center.
hi ray - moving that junk has become a local and national activity. like $1.00 water bottles, who ever would have thot!? 1800 JUNK, junk-n-a-trunk, etc. other day in traffic i saw a junk hauling truck. sign said: Junk Rockers....

in the junk business... rock n roll specialists :guitar:

Yeah it is bad for construction right now I cannot see how anyone is building at the moment. Managed to get the predator screen in before the rain started. I also headed in the garage this afternoon I wanted to see what was up with my 038 as it wouldn't start when I got it out to use on the timbers last weekend. I knew I had ran it out before storing it and it had ethonol free in it. The problem ended up being a multiple issue the plug was a champion which I promptly changed to an ngk which allowed it to start but it would stumble and bog on acceleration. Turned out the kill wire came unsoldered and was intermittently contacting. As soon as it was repaired it was back up and running ready for tommarrow. Have a good afternoon.
omg! you should see it down here. full reckless abandon! new homes galore! absolutely everywhere! nice rural areas turning into neighborhoods, too! :(

unsoldered! imagine that!! almost hard to believe, but i do believe you!! :popcorn2:
