And another .This time with view towards the Aegean sea.

MS180 seems to withstand the harassment !
It gets the job done ,sure...
But it's got it's own pace ,nevertheless .

Had dropped this cluster of three
( wild chestnuts ) about a month ago .
Since the logs are not going to saw mill ,I did the notches and back cuts further up from ground level,in order to be able to evacuate while standing and not have to stand up first. But the stumps need lowering ,since there's some firewood left in those stumps .Had to lower them .

The bar was an ordinary 16" Oregon ,but the chain gave me a hard time ,nose burying the bar ,
since it's that junk ( Stihl PM3 ) with those extra bumps aside with the depth gauges .
The bar just did not wanted to bury itself with that chain .
Never used one before .
Never going to ever again ...

I just had my 180 running the other day. First time in over a year, popped right off after 3 pulls. Impressive given I drained the tank and carb for storage. It is probably the least temperamental saw I own.
Yeap! It is an impressive little saw !
Always easy to start, easy to carry and handle, easy to maintain and service and when it will eventually die in my hands ,very easy to replace with a new one !

For some reason I have found ms170s to hold up better than 180s when abused. pistons seem to score on 180s when pushed with dull chain- but 170 see less of this problem? Even though sold 10 to 1 ratio of 170 to 180 too. (We have non strat version for North American)
The View of Aegean Sea is amazing. But I’m partial to the Ionian Sea from Zakonthoys😉,but all seaside views from Greece are beautiful!

The Aegean sea has amazing sunrises, while the Ionian has dazzling sunsets !

I have both 170s and 180s .
Haven't noticed that difference ,
but that doesn't mean that I don't
trust what you claim .

BTW,The stratified version is the "2-mix" one ?

Note that this particular MS180
I'm using has a fully adjustable carb ,MM and an "opened up " air intake. Most probably it outputs a bit more than the stock 1.9 hp .

Next time you visit Greece ,
you may consider coming to the mainland ,instead of going to an island ....
Pelion mountain is a beautiful place !

I think if you tore down a 170 and 180 side by side you'd have a hard time finding many (any) differences.
The biggest that stands out is the 1/3 hp difference. At that end of the power spectrum you don't want to give up anything you don't have to 😁

Yes, 2mix is the stratocharged engine.
I personally think the ms180 (reg version) runs hotter than 170. 180 uses same carb as 170 but has 7% bigger engine And they add a heat deflector for muffler.

only mainland part I have been to is Patras (in-laws from) not much to see other than a bridge-lol and Athena, plus a few other islands.
