I have the free in my front yard. When I bought this house two years ago, it would grown to a full covered reddish leaf. The last two years it’s not fully filling as it used to and almost looks as if it’s dying. The leaves fall off in the fall and come back in spring. Just not as full as it used to be.

How much sun does the tree get on a average day?
Is that area very wet or dry.
Were the root disturbed during mulching or ...
These trees are very slow growing and usually not finicky but wilt and/or too wet and could be unhappy.
