Hello fellow saw nuts. I recently bought a Holzfforma G272 which is advertised as a clone of a Husqvarna 272xp. I ordered a bar off Amazon advertised to be a “HT-388-72” which per my chainsaw chart should be compatible with the 372xp, but does not fit on the Holzfforma due to the chain tensioner not lining up with the hole in the guide bar.
Is a 372xp bar not compatible with a 272xp? Or is this not maybe as much of a clone as they claim? I guess the bar could not be what they claim also. Please help!

Pics of saw bar mount and bar? I can compare to my 272xp and G372xp

If the chain is the proper 72 drive links, you shouldn't have fitment issues. Bars interchange between those two chassis.
All I can think of is if it has an 8 pin rim instead of the standard 7.
Can you post a picture of what's going on?

I think your bar is wrong. The bar off my orange 272xp fits on my 372xp clone but it looks diff than yours.

i through some pics up where you can see the tensioner stopping the bar from setting. I measured the gap of the holes which seemed easier than measuring the mount.

looks like they sent me an HT288-72. So if this were really a HT388-72 it would be the D009 mount correct?
I would send it back. Amazon is very good with returns, but you probably already know that. Also that is an
.058 bar. It's popular in some areas but not around here. No one local to me carries .058. everything around here is .050. just thought I would throw that out there.
Be sure to let us know how that saws runs.

Yeah it’s interesting, my 55 uses a .050 20” bar and I would have liked to keep it consistent for compatibility. I am honestly not entirely sure why they make .058s. I was reading they helps get a little extra oil to the end of the bar, especially on longer bars. I’m not sure if there is anything to that though, or that a 20” bar would count as long. I guess chalk it up to curiosity mostly as I’ve never had one.
