I know it's not a chainsaw but it's close .
A buddy of mine gave me this xl98 to mess around with ..gonna be a winter project for me .
After getting it apart I find a piston ring broke and a chunk broke out of the piston itself and the cylinder also has a chunck broke out by the exhaust port .
I did notice all the internals seemed very dry ..no signs of much if any oil on anything in the bottom end ..the connecting rod is very sloppy..I'm not sure how fight these needle bearings are supposed to be but there is quit a bit of slop up and down.
My question is does this seem salvageable or not and how hard are the parts to find ?
Thanks
Ernie
