Hello to all,

I recently posted here about a frost-crack in the horse chesnut tree at my new home [https://www.arboristsite.com/threads/crack-in-horse-chesnut-tree.354937/] and was given some great advice, but I am back for some more help.

The crack in the tree seems to be oozing some sort of darkness. Instead of googling and mis-diagnosing the problem I figured I should come ask the pro's -- I'm sure there is nothing that can be done at this point but does anyone have any reccomendations? Could I apply a pruning paste to help the tree?

Aside from the crack, the tree seems to be happy and thriving.

Any suggestions and diagnoses are helpful.

Thank you!
