I have a Husky Rancher 455 and recently found a Husky 350 and Sthil 290 sitting beside a trash dumpster. Neither ran, the 290 had a 145 compression so I redid the fuel lines plug filter and new carb and coil and it runs like a champ. The Husky 350 I ran compression test today and its sitting at 90. I can manually feed fuel and it will run for a few sec and die but with the low compression I think I might as well put a new piston rings and cylinder. I was looking at the 45mm big bore kits however I thought I read you have to know if its a high or low cylinder and I have no idea how to tell. Also unsure if 45mm is the way to go. I plan on trying my hand at porting and do a muffler mod on this as I did on the Sthil and my Husky 455. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

You can't do much better than a 346XP top end on em...
Pressure/ vac test it if you can so you know if an air leak killed it before you start.
Good chance you can clean the cylinder up & just replace piston & rings
