Got handed a really bad 40, but there were salvageable parts. Thought I’d throw it up here in case someone was needing any. Haven’t removed cylinder yet but there is potential the piston is good...possibly the cylinder but I’m not counting on it.
Will update once I get to that point. Serial: 1310493

piston is surprisingly clean for all the white rot. All hit the crown with was a few drops of oil and a light rag.

Im not looking to get much for it, as this was free to me.33F728EE-2F99-4B41-AEEB-E6FD3F7F0499.jpeg6BC182BA-8AE5-466D-A9CC-95EE0031D4C6.jpegAEA412D9-A969-441F-99BB-76C7661D4985.jpeg6805B914-C969-4596-A0FA-E5F18345CDBB.jpeg

Saw/parts are free, buyer pays shipping.

Ready to get this out of storage as this has no use to me.

Somebody out there's gotta need something off it.

Cheers!

What model 40 would help people. Was there a rancher home owner 40?
It's not a rancher.

The model is 40. Pre rancher designation, if I understand correctly. Not a pro saw, but not a homeowner like the modern ones. There was a whole slew of these saws, 40, 42, 44, 50, and so on. This was around the time the anniversary black covers were produced.
