Jonsered 2152 Chain Tensioner Issues

The screw looks bent, on your original. The gear piece looks cocked. Try bending it a tad. Just grip the side of the top plate.

Great pictures thank you! Your tensioner seems a lot tighter than any of the aftermarket ones I have bought.

Completely off-topic, but I have yet to be able to find a s/n on my saw. You mentioned you had a 2152, any idea where it is located????

You should find the model plate and serial number on a tag under the PTO side of the wrap handle bar mount.

If you look at the construction of the part, you'll see that the top plate bottom jaw on channel locks just rests on the tube. Make sure you don't squeeze tube when trying to tighten.

if the gears dont engage with the tensioner in your hand . you have found the problem. you got shafted with a counterfeit product. scratch the seller from your contact list and get a new OEM tensioner.

I haven’t had a chance to fix anything yet due to the holiday weekend. I’m hoping to get it fixed up tomorrow and see if there is any change. Appreciate the checking in.
