Been doing it for years, new sleds have long tracks and are surprisingly powerful, yesterday in Medicine Bow National Forest (Wyoming)
Cut down and delimbed a 30’ dead lodgepole after trimming, Ski Do Tundra easily pulled it out of woods onto road, could not have done it in summer without cutting into carryable pieces. This is the big advantage of the sled, can get into places over the snow which are inaccessible at other times. Also built a skid shield out of a plastic drum, keeps butt end of pull from hanging up on an obstacle.

That has to be a long drive. Just curious but how come you do not cut in Routt national forest.

Own property within National Forest there, nice arrangement w public land on all sides plus thousands of beetle kill dead pines nearby.
That is nice. You are lucky none of the fires got into your areas. I too cut in Medicine Bow but the fire got to a lot of the beetle kill lodge pole there. Pickens are not so easy.
