Manicured live oak

Was wondering if any of yous guys ever manicured your live oaks? When I moved into the house it had a little 1 inch oak sapling 3 foot tall. It grew very little at first. I gave it some root spikes and after that it grew like wild fire. Every year during pruning season I look forward to doing my best at making it into a beautiful tree. I climb up as far as I can to clear out dead branches or stuff that is not in my mental picture. I really enjoy keeping it balanced and proportional.
