Mcculloch 395 problem?

Hi, I'm here from Spain, I just bought two McCulloch 395 chainsaws and it seems to me that they have some play in the connecting rod in the crankshaft part, in the rollers it has 24 and I needed to know the exact measurement of these, thank you very much and greetings to all

The 395 was the European version of the Super 250. I can give you the bearing dimensions in inches; they are

.0944 x .546 / .547

Axial play is quite normal, radial play is not acceptable. If your bearings are small replacing them should help but you probably need to check the crankshaft journal and rod bore as well.

The Super 250 saws were very good performance wise and the 395 version would be very collectible on this side of the Atlantic. I hope you are able to get at least one running properly and can give it a good workout with at least a 30" bar.

If you need help to get a 395 here in Europe, do not hesitate to contact me. connecting rod and crankshaft to adapt 2.5mm needles I am looking for a manual to be able to take it to the rectifier thank you very much

Hello, I have the manual but the measurements do not come out or the one I have does not specify it 😔
 
Look at the bottom of the crankcase, it will have the model number and serial number stamped on it. I am guessing it is a 1-45 or 1-45 maybe.

I don't think I have every seen any published dimensions for anything other than the bore and stroke for the old McCulloch saws. I guess they figured the crankshaft and connecting rod & bearings would never wear enough to require replacement. There were charts with the standard and oversize bore in inches or mm...

It may be this number I do not see more in the cylinder

I have a fair few Super 250s and similar. It isn't unusual to have what feels like a bit of free play. I recommend taking the exhaust off and rocking the crank at the free play while watching the piston before you pull down. It is likely ok.
