Made some picnic tables from some oak.

HOWEVER, these have not been dried. I warned the customer about it, but he wanted me to proceed anyway. Restaurant is having their grand opening on Wednesday, so he needed something NOW.
We can replace the warped wood later.
Very nice unc.

Nice.
Oak eh? Pretty fancy wood for a picnic table.
Did you finish sand and install them for him too?
Are they treated?
Hope it doesn't warp too much for him.

Strange times, I’m building a purely functional lean to, out of beautiful milled white oak. It’s what I have a bunch of, and framing lumber at the big orange, and blue stores, is way$$$ right now, and sketchy quality.

Howdy Josh. Good looking stuff there bud. Had to create a new account here (was jimdad07) as none of my old passwords worked. Been a long time since I've been on AS.

good to have you back! It’s sure been a while. Stick around some more and don’t be a stranger!
What’s your location, anyway? Maybe we’ll be near you on vacation sometime.

sanded and installed for him. Not treated. We’ll see how they hold up.
.
Josh my experience with milled white oak is the length wise curl will be opposite the rings as if the rings wanna straighten out. I didn't know so my slabs started out 2 3/4" thick. Planing for router planing prior to being bench tops.

This is what was left in yard waste dump today 20210820_082125.jpg
And later moved over with firewood area.

So I need a bigger truck/trailer or get Brett (Sr. or Jr.) To help with their equipment. I find it easier in this weather to have me milling, etc. closer to the creek.
Wooda liked fewr longer pieces.

Welcome back.
You're kind of near me then, sort of.
Are you on the Buffalo end or the Watertown end of the lake?
I'm right across the pond near Madoc which is a bit north of Trenton/Kingston.

Well done Josh, like the overlap joints having such even match.

Well, there's a reason I showed only that side. ;) :innocent:
I tried to get those posts in the right positions, but they didn't quite line up as well as hoped. But once I realized that, I cut them a bit long and adjusted as I went.

White oak, 2.5" thick when milled.
Finished table is about 2" thick, 11 feet long, and averages over 50" wide
13 coats of West Systems epoxy
More sanding & epoxy than I planned for, but was definitely worth it all in the end !
I'll get some pictures of the finished coat soon, this was the 12th coat, still had some bubbles & bugs
