I owe a favor to one of my sons teachers who goes above and beyond for us. I own a grand burg mill. I have not really used it.

He wants a 16x65x4 slab of oak. This is not oak country, I’m cutting wood in a place with a bunch of 12-14” white oaks. I finally found a dead one that’s over 16, about 20 at the ground and barely 16 at the top. I got it dropped gently and cut the section out of it. I was planning on loading it in the pickup and taking it to an old neighbor that has a real saw mill. However this thing is so heavy I’d have to road a tractor 30 miles to load it. So guess I’ll make an attempt.

I know traditionally guys mill green wood and dry it correct? This things got water inside, but was dead. I cut it about 10” extra length so he has something to work with.
