Can a bent bar be straightened? I made some really weird cuts on a dead pine and thought I had screwed up when sharpening the chain. Checked the angles, depths, tooth length and all were ok. Laid the bar flat on the bench and it has a curve in it. I probably caused it last time I used it to cut a felled tree that was really too big for the 16" bar. I got it stuck in the cut, and had to use my bigger saw to cut it out.IMG_1871[1].JPG

Get a cement block, some Map gas/yellow cylinder and a pair of vice grips. You can heat the bent area and bend the bar back using the web of the cement block.
Good luck!
