Bought a MS201T C-M in 2016 for its compactness for 1) carry everywhere for emergencies 2) removing logs blocking forest roads 2) back-up of my back-up 3) tree and bush work. The case is Cabela's large Advanced Angler case. Has a nice waterproof base to contain oil leaks. Who wants to break in and steal a saw disguised as fishing gear? Takes a couple of minutes though to put the 14 inch bar on for operation.

Early on, the saw would die, very annoying when in a tree. Dealer said early solenoids were giving problems. Removed carb, found a bit of sawdust in throat. Air filter had not sealed properly. Solenoid looked OK but what do I know about M-Tronic? Worked better, not dying as much. Sloppy QC?

It has not had a lot of use, logging about 10 hours in six years. Always had a annoying puddle of oil to clean up in the bottom of the fishing bag every time before use. Out of warranty, mentioned it to two dealer. Both said leak is normal. Cut out a plastic piece to fit in place of a bar when in the case to block the oil port. Made no difference. Finally tightened up case screws. Abolutely no oil leak now. Runs even better. Sloppy QC? Never pressure or vacuum tested case.

Bottom line, check the black, especially on a new saw.
