Hey my friends I recently was given an old stihl 032av that the older gentleman couldn't start. I took it home pulled the filter cover and filter, sprinkled a little gas and gave her a tug and boom she busted off and died. Anyway after about a week I went to go cut some more fire wood and I like to rotate through my saws to keep them tip top so it was the 032s day and she fired second pull like she had bein went lean and died. I figured maybe clogged filter, bad fuel line, dirty carb screen you know the usual stuff but when I popped the gas cap the inside of the tank looked like a damn jar of jelly and when it dries it looks like battery acid corrosion. Its already ate a pinhole in the bottom of the tank and I'm having issues cleaning it all out. I've soaked it overnight in chem dip. I've rincesed it with hot water and dawn. I've even tried mineral spirits. But this crap won't go away. Do I need to use water pressure and blast it out? I'm afraid to get too aggressive and punch a hole through it. Anyone ever seen this junk? I might have to just bite the bullet and split her apart and scrub it out before it completely destroys this saw cause its a good little runner.

I didn't realize the tank on the 032 is attached to the crank case unlike the 031. I found 1 the case half with the tank looks excellent from what I see. The opposite case half isn't usable i don't think cause of a piece broke off. Inside the tank is clean. I doubt you want to disassemble the entire saw and split the case to replace the tank but if you do I would ship it to u for shipping cost.
I might have a whole bottom end in good condition somewhere if i figure out or find where it is, would sell cheap.
