Need help with 372x torq

https://www.ebay.com/itm/401148578866?hash=item5d66518c32:g:BVMAAMXQuTNTPLJxif it was run hot repeatedly the coil could have been heat damaged and your description sounds like the carb is loading up the saw with fuel when returned to idle. 45ish bucks for a coil and about the same for a aftermarket carb I would just do both and move forward for under 100 bucks. I have seen carbs destroyed by inexperience many times. It only takes one oopsy to ruin needles/seats/ jet bores/ jet seats/ jet tips or totally muff up welch plugs resulting in cross leaks etc. triple check my parts posted for being correct as my wife reminds me often that I am wrong from time to time.

Thanks for all the info guys, but Sunday evening I pulled the coil off a 357 I haven’t gotten around to yet, and immediately problem is gone, gonna try to get around some wood this weekend maybe and tune it up and see how she cuts, first 372 I’ve ever got to run!

Coil gets my vote.

Winner winner....
XT/limited coils can make them a pain to tune both on the low and high side.
If you set them too high on the low side you get into the advance and they will surge.
For the high side I just fatten them up till you can hear it's clearly not the coil limiting it, then lean it until it bumps the limiter, then fatten it a bit til it comes off the limiter, then give it a little turn it and run it in the wood to make sure it's all good. You can do the same with a tach and then just lean it out a bit more once you find the limiter.
