We had 99mph winds in Utah last week (Sep 8) and a large portion of the Salt Lake region has major tree damage. I came out pretty lucky, but my 2 large trees lost a large branch off of each and have some fairly major trunk damage. All the arborists and tree companies in the region are booked solid, so I need some advice.
I'd like to know what to do for the best chance of keeping these trees alive and healthy. Along with the damage, the winds stripped nearly all their leaves off.
I do not know what kind of trees they are, but they are both the same. They have very large, simple, broad, and opposite leaves (about 10" long and 8" wide). It grows clusters of round seed pods (~1" diameter).
