Im considering having a saw built, I have chosen Solo as a brand but I am struggling to decide whether I should go for the 665 or the 675. The 675 would be the obvious choice with a power to weight ratio of 1:5 and a 4.3kW rating, the only problem is that if I do go for the saw I will have to race in open class, as the small modification class restricts me to under 73cc. Now I have heard that increasing the compression on the saw does reduce the CC (because the barrel gets shortened to reduce stroke), my question is, will it bring the 675 down from 74.6cc to under 73cc, is it possible?
Another question I have is which fuel I should run on. The guy uilding the saw mentioned two options, a methanol petrol mix, and a petrol, acetone and castor oil mix? If there are any other viable options please let me know.
